Description

UNFORTUNATELY, THIS ITEM IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

A collection of vintage short subjects starring "man's best friend".

Death Fangs (1934): Along with Rin Tin Tin, Flash the Wonder Dog was one of the most famous canine film stars during the Golden Age of Hollywood. Inspired by the Lindbergh kidnapping of two years prior, Flash rescues the infant son of a rich couple. Legendary stuntman Dave Sharpe, who appeared in thousands of films, plays Flash's owner.

All In One (1938): A dog may be man's best friend, but his car isn't far behind. This industrial film shows how the virtues of different breeds of dogs can all be found in a 1938 Chevrolet.

Bird Dogs (1940): Dogs are trained in the art of hunting and then set loose to retrieve downed birds for their masters in this silent short subject.

Police Dogs In Action (1950s): In San Mateo County, Southern California, police dogs are brought in to do the jobs that ordinary cops can't. A German Shepherd, Hero, works with his human partner to find missing children and keep suspects from escaping.

Skipper Learns A Lesson (1952): Susan and her faithful dog Skipper move into a racially mixed neighborhood. Skipper tries his best to keep Susan from making new friends until he finds himself shunned by his fellow canines.

Mother Mack Trains Her Seven Puppies (1952): Two boys take their Scottish Terrier and her new family out for a fun day at the beach.

Mother Mack's Puppies Find Happy Homes (1953): Mother Mack's owners decide to find new homes for her seven puppies.

A Bone For Spotty (1954): In this educational film produced by First National Bank, little Barbara thinks that she should bury her dollar bills in the ground just like her pooch Spotty does with his bones.
