In 1945, "plays that have entertained and thrilled many an audience in many a theater" could be heard on Brownstone Theater. At the beginning of each episode, listeners were guided to a seat in this "theater of memories." Half hour adaptations of classics like Cyrano de Bergerac and The Man Without a Country were featured, but the show included a wide variety of works. Comedy and tragedy, romance and danger, battles of swords and battles of the sexes can all be found at the Brownstone Theater.
